Olympique de Marseille boss Didier Deschamps left bewildered by officials after defeat to Stade Brestois

The former Juventus manager and player kept his post-match press conference to a minimum, yet stated his side should have benefited from both a red card and a penalty

Marseille coach Didier Deschamps believes his side should have had a spot-kick in the opening minute during their 1-0 defeat to Stade Brestois on the weekend.

Defender Johan Martial bought down Marseille striker Brandao in the box just 30 seconds after the opening whistle yet nothing was given by the referee, leaving Deschamps infuriated with the decision.

“What happens, happens, but after 30 seconds of play we should have had a penalty and a red card for them,” said the manager in a post-match press conference. “I hope the referee will realise his mistake, so I’ll stop here and not answer your questions.

The 43-year-old avoided all questions from the media after the game, claiming he might say something he could be sanctioned for should he continue. “Today I don’t feel like it, I don’t have the head or heart to do it as it could lead me to saying something I might regret.” - http://www.goal.com/
