AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso has returned to training, the club have announced on their official website. The midfielder suffered from an eye problem known as ocular myasthenia, a disease of the neuromuscular junction, which is caused by a form of influenza which the 34-year-old is believed to have contacted during the team's recent trip to Dubai.

"Rino Gattuso, whose health has been steadily improving, joined the rest of his team-mates for today's training session," read a statement on AC Milan's webpage on Tuesday. It is not yet clear, however, when the former Rangers player could return to action for Massimiliano Allegri's men.Gattuso, who missed the top-of-the-table clash with Juventus on Saturday, has made just a single appearance in Serie A for the Rossoneri this term. - http://www.goal.com/

Olympique de Marseille boss Didier Deschamps left bewildered by officials after defeat to Stade Brestois

The former Juventus manager and player kept his post-match press conference to a minimum, yet stated his side should have benefited from both a red card and a penalty

Marseille coach Didier Deschamps believes his side should have had a spot-kick in the opening minute during their 1-0 defeat to Stade Brestois on the weekend.

Defender Johan Martial bought down Marseille striker Brandao in the box just 30 seconds after the opening whistle yet nothing was given by the referee, leaving Deschamps infuriated with the decision.

“What happens, happens, but after 30 seconds of play we should have had a penalty and a red card for them,” said the manager in a post-match press conference. “I hope the referee will realise his mistake, so I’ll stop here and not answer your questions.

The 43-year-old avoided all questions from the media after the game, claiming he might say something he could be sanctioned for should he continue. “Today I don’t feel like it, I don’t have the head or heart to do it as it could lead me to saying something I might regret.” - http://www.goal.com/

Atletico Madrid boss Simeone: I'm too young to coach Inter

The Argentine, who has also been linked with a return to Lazio in a coaching capacity, insists that he is not yet experienced enough to take the reigns at San Siro

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has ruled out the prospect of him taking charge of Inter in the near future, insisting that he is too young for the job.

The former Argentina international has made a big impact since taking charge of the Rojiblancos during the winter break, which has prompted speculation that he could one day return to San Siro. However, Simeone insists that it will be some time before he starts entertaining the idea of coaching Inter, believing that the role requires far greater coaching experience than he currently possesses."I'm focused on Atletico and I think only of Atletico," he told Mediaset Premium. "I'm too young for Inter."

Simeone was speaking after his side had just completed a 4-1 aggregate win over Lazio in the last 32 of the Europa League courtesy of a 1-0 victory at the Vicente Calderon on Thursday night. The former midfield ace has, of course, also been linked with the Biancocelesti but he was unwilling to speak on the issue given the current uncertainty surrounding Edy Reja's future as coach.

The 66-year-old Italian has already offered to step down as Lazio boss but Simeone is hopeful that he will be persuaded into remaining at the helm."All of the players are with him, so I hope he decides to stay," the South American stated.Simeone has yet to taste defeat since replacing Gregorio Manzano as Rojiblancos boss in December - http://www.goal.com/

Sullivan reveals Ba exit clause

Hammers co-owner lifts the lid on Magpies striker's contract

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan believes Demba Ba is likely to exit Newcastle this summer, with a clause in his contract set to leave the Magpies short.

The Hammers sold the Senegalese striker to Newcastle last summer, with relegation out of the Premier League forcing their hand. Ba has been a revelation on Tyneside, with his goals largely responsible for the Magpies' ongoing bid to secure a top-four finish.

His efforts have been welcomed by the St James' Park faithful, making him a firm fans' favourite, but his exploits have not gone unnoticed elsewhere. Speculation regarding his future and an apparent release clause in his contract first surfaced ahead of the January transfer window, and is expected to return to the fore.

Sullivan has now revealed that were a move to be pushed through, Newcastle would only pocket half of any fee involved. The rest of the cash will go to Ba, meaning the Magpies could be left with just £3.5million were a rival club to match his £7m release fee.

"They keep denying it, but I think you'll see in the summer he will leave Newcastle or he'll get a monstrous rise to stay there," said Sullivan. "I'm told he's got a £7m get-out clause and he gets half the money of that. "If they get about £4m, half will go to him. So if they sell him for £7m, they'll only get about three because they paid his agent £2m to get him out of here." - http://www1.skysports.com/

Bologna Vs Fiorentina 2/22 1:30AM GMT+8

The Italy international had been strongly linked with a move to Juventus this month. However, Fiorentina have confirmed they will not sell the player, who is under contract with La Viola until June 2013. "The club intends to focus on the objective of growing and investing to improve the actual squad." Gilardino, 28, is Fiorentina's top scorer with five goals his season. His side head into the encounter at the Renato Dall' Ara stadium looking to spark their season into life. Sinisa Mihajlovic's men have won just one of their last four games and a 2-1 defeat at Udinese before the winter break was their seventh loss of the campaign.
They lie 15th in the standings.

The Viola have not won on the road since last March and face a Bologna side that has looked solid at home so far. Alberto Malesani's men have lost just once in Bologna this season, a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Serie A leaders AC Milan last month. Bologna lie one point clear of Fiorentina heading into the match. Malesani will have all of his players available with striker Marco Di Vaio having recovered from a foot injury. The visitors will be without suspended midfielder Marco Donadel and injured trio Mario Santana, Stevan Jovetic and Sebastien Frey.

It seems like Bologna will have it really difficult to be safe in this season despite that at the moment stands 4 points ahead from the relegation zone and does have two matches more to play but both are very tough. In the other side Inter stands in the 5th position in Serie A with 36 points from 23 matches that this team have already played so far.

Inter must play in this tough match without a key player like Walter Samuel that is injured while the new signing of Inter, Fredy Guarin is still not able to play for Inter due to an injury that he wasn't able to recover it in time. The good news for Inter is the return in the team of Maicon despite that the main problem of Inter will be the heart of defense. In the other side Bologna traveled in this weekend without Nico Pulzetti that is injured while Panagiotis Kone had done very well to recover after an injury but still most probably won't start this match.

Roma's Luis Enrique: We played below our usual level against Siena

The Spanish coach rued the team's display after yet another negative result away from home and stated that several players did not perform to the best of their abilities

Roma coach Luis Enrique was understandably disappointed with his side's display in the 1-0 defeat at Siena.A solitary Emanuele Calaio second-half penalty gave the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit all three points, and denied visitors the chance to leapfrog Inter in fifth place. It was the Giallorossi's fourth straight negative result on the road, and Luis Enrique admitted that his charges did not give a good account of themselves."This was not our night, we made too many mistakes," he told Sky Sport Italia. "Many of our players were below their usual level."We always tried to attack, but if we do not control the ball it leaves us in trouble. It is clear we are still far from having the consistency that we are looking for. "Siena were great in defence and they closed down very well." - http://www.goal.com/

Cyril+Thereau+AC+Chievo+Verona+v+SSC+Napoli+YmZHYPBvU5_l.jpg (594×407)

Napoli will play with Chelsea for CL incoming week and will rest and rotate their squad for sure, far away from the tittle and that will affect on their performance tomorrow for sure. They are without win 5 rounds already, making 4 draws. At home they are performing quite unstable with 4-5-2 so far. Chievo are far away from the danger zone and will play without pressure. They lost only 1 of their last 4 visits. Chievo is having great run over Napoli, recording 3 straight wins against them.
