Italy Series 12bet news update 12/23

AC Milan set for further talks with Manchester City over Carlos Tevez

The Rossoneri are still trying to persuade the Premier League leader to allow the player to move to San Siro in January on loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.

Officials from AC Milan and Manchester City are reportedly meeting on Thursday afternoon to discuss Carlos Tevez’s proposed move to San Siro.

Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida will once again attempt to persuade the English outfit to allow the Argentine forward to leave Eastlands on loan with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian sports daily also claims that City has agreed to the talks because Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Tevez has cooled, with the French outfit now said to have turned its attention to signing Porto forward Hulk.

Tevez has not played for the City since refusing to come on as a substitute during September’s Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The player was subsequently told he had no future at the club by manager Roberto Mancini but City has struggled to find a buyer for the player because of Tevez’s wage demands and the size of the transfer fee the club is demanding for the want-away striker.

Milan is keen to strengthen its forward line with Antonio Cassano set to miss the rest of the season after undergoing heart surgery but has repeatedly stated that the club will only sign players on loan in January. - http://www.goal.com
