Catania Confirm Agreement Has Been Reached For Maxi Lopez To Join AC Milan

The Sicilian club revealed that they have agreed terms with the Rossoneri on the transfer of the striker and the only thing that remains now is when it will be formalised

Catania general director Pietro Lo Monaco has confirmed that the Sicilians have reached an agreement with AC Milan to transfer Maxi Lopez to the Rossoneri in the January transfer window.

Sky Sport Italia recently reported that Milan and Catania had agreed terms on a six-month loan deal, and Lo Monaco has now revealed that the transfer is ready to be concluded.

"We have reached a full agreement with Milan. The only thing that has yet to be decided is when we will finalise the deal," Lo Monaco said to reporters at an awards ceremony on Monday evening.

It's not yet sure whether Milan will only complete the transfer of Maxi Lopez if they fail to lure Carlos Tevez away from Manchester City, or if the former Barcelona attacker will move to San Siro regardless of any other new arrivals.

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani revealed on Tuesday that City have given the Rossoneri permission to open talks with Tevez, but they have yet to agree terms with the Premier League side. - http://www.goal.com
